A Personal Message from Steve Crump
candidate for District 8, EBR School Board
Good people who supported, voted, and worked on the campaign, this is my message the day after the election returns, March 24, 2024:
Yes, turnout was low as pundits predicted. And yes, huge amounts of money in elections will still be a topic of conversation not only in Louisiana, but throughout the nation. Was this a short-lived campaign? I'll say it was! 13-weeks from start to finish.
Did my opponent get her supporters out to realize a win? Yes. And last night I called her to congratulate her on her campaign and wished her success as a new member of the EBR School Board. She seemed very pleased that I made a personal call. That's what we do in this country.
This election is over. It has been an adventure, not only for me. I will not forget about those who helped and created a grassroots campaign. Literally, out of nothingness, a campaign emerged, with inspiration, also.
We say goodbye to this election but keep alive the ever-present and persistent issues that preceded the campaign. In 2026, there is another all-districts EBR School Board election. You will not forget about preserving the American Public Schools and making them better.
I'm sure glad and thankful to all that we did this.
Blessings,
Steve Crump
